Dossier for partner institutions
Equandia
A series of six science and adventure books for readers from age 9, by Sol Andia (author's pen name).
Project in development · on hold while we look for a partner institution
For publishers, foundations, universities, schools, NGOs and scientific institutions.
1. What Equandia is
Equandia is a series of six books: five follow Luna from age 8 to 18, and a companion book, Ana's Diary, tells a story set three hundred years earlier. It brings together adventure and magical realism with Earth science and disaster preparedness, such as earthquakes, tsunamis, floods, volcanoes and wildfires. Every book clearly separates what is real from what is fiction, and its real-world facts and safety recommendations are checked against official sources.
2. Where it stands today
- Book 1, Signals in the Earth: written, in Spanish and with an English manuscript. Its chapters 1 to 3 can be read free at equandia.com.
- Books 2 to 6: in development, with synopsis, chapters and per-chapter learning defined. Their content may change. Their English titles and summaries are working translations.
- Nothing is for sale: no book has a price or a publication date.
- The project is on hold while we look for a partner institution to help carry it forward responsibly.

4. What readers learn
Every chapter has a concrete learning goal. This is the summary per book; the full list, chapter by chapter, is at equandia.com/en/serie.
- Book 1, Signals in the Earth: Recognizing the signs of earthquakes, tsunamis, floods, landslides, tornadoes, volcanoes, hurricanes, droughts and wildfires, knowing what to do in each case and understanding that no one can predict an earthquake.
- Book 2, Echoes of the Past: Historical memory: how grief and recovery after a disaster are lived, why hiding information makes the harm worse, and how truth commissions, museums and memorials help to repair.
- Book 3, Deep Roots: Deforestation and biodiversity, mycorrhizal networks and what science still debates about them, how to recognize disinformation and peaceful forms of youth participation.
- Book 4, Fractured Horizon: Wildfires, hurricanes and climate change, together with mental health: recognising burnout, asking for help, delegating and self-care.
- Book 5, The Awakening of the Five: Warnings and preventive evacuation for tsunamis and megafires, team coordination, collective grief, and how to teach others and prepare a handover.
- Book 6, Ana's Diary: Observing and recording a volcano's signs with dates and data, knowing that no one can tell the exact day of an eruption, and valuing memory and testimony.
Educational material. Books 1 to 5 end with appendices: What is real and what is fiction?, hands-on activities, a guide for educators, a glossary, resources and an assessment (in Book 4, illustrative stories). Experiments and activities are meant to be done with adult supervision.

5. How it was made, transparently
- Human authorship. The world of Equandia, its themes, its names, its characters and its story are the human creation of its author.
- AI as an assistive tool. It helped develop the stories in depth, verify information and create the images. Everything was done under human direction and review.
- Images with a canon set by the author. They did not come from a single prompt: the author explained each character, supplied references and asked for changes until their look was fixed as canon; the rest was generated from that canon.
- Real-world facts checked against official sources. Each real fact and each safety recommendation was compared with the page of an official body, which was opened and from which the literal quote was copied with its date of access (25/10/2026). What a source only partly supported was rewritten; what had no source was corrected or removed. Every book has its own "Official sources" section.
- Independent source review. In Books 1 to 5, a second pass, separate from whoever wrote the book and the tables and also AI-assisted, reopened every link and checked every quote. In Book 6 that second pass is still pending. None of this replaces the expert review we are looking for.
- Fiction and safety notices. Every book states what is fiction (AMI, the Guardians' gifts, the Primordials, Umbra and the world of Equandia) and that in the real world no one can predict an earthquake. It carries a legal and safety notice: it is not an official manual and does not replace the authorities. Sensitive topics, such as disasters, loss and grief, are handled with care and without graphic descriptions.

6. What we are looking for and what we offer
What we need from a partner
- A publishing entity or responsible institution, with a name and legal address, that can stand behind the work.
- Professional legal review: liability, use of AI, copyright and protection of children's data.
- Expert review: seismology and disaster risk management, child psychology, teaching, intercultural reading and copyediting.
- Funding or sponsorship for illustration, editing and liability insurance.
- Distribution to families, schools and libraries.
What we offer
- The complete Book 1 (Spanish, with an English manuscript) and the plans for Books 2 to 6: synopsis, chapters and the learning of each chapter.
- Character and world canon: character sheets, visual guide, map, biomes, bestiary and mythology.
- Educational material in the appendices of Books 1 to 5 and free resources on the website.
- Source tables per book, with fact, link, literal quote and date of access, ready for expert review.
7. What does not exist yet, and limits
- There is no incorporated publishing entity.
- The project is anonymous by the author's choice; the author signs with the pen name Sol Andia. The legal identity is provided only to partner institutions that require it, and under agreement.
- There are no sales, prices or publication dates.
- There are no endorsements or affiliations. No institution endorses Equandia today. Those cited as sources or as examples of expertise have no relationship with the project.
- There is no expert review or professional legal review yet. That is exactly what we are looking for.
- The images were generated with AI assistance. Their copyright protection depends on each jurisdiction and is part of the pending legal review.
- This dossier is not a contract offer. Any collaboration is formalized in writing, in an agreement signed by both parties.
